Hi there, I’m your local trilingual nightlife explorer in Xi’an! My name is Juliette. I was born and raised in Xi’an, and after university, I went to Germany and lived there for five years. 1. Two Restaurants
We’ll begin the evening at a popular local BBQ spot — the kind of lively street-side place where Xi’an locals sit on plastic stools, clink beer bottles, and share sizzling skewers late into the night. This sets the perfect casual, authentic tone for the evening.
Next, we’ll head to a restaurant serving Xi’an’s must-try specialties — the iconic dishes that locals say “if you haven’t eaten them, you haven’t really been to Xi’an.” Think rich, flavorful plates that define the city’s food culture and are beloved by generations.
2. Walk Past the Glowing City Wall & Cultural Street
Our route takes us by the Xi’an City Wall, beautifully lit at night — a breathtaking sight that captures the city’s history in a modern glow. From there, we’ll stroll through Shuyuanmen Street, famous for its atmosphere of traditional Chinese culture, lined with shops selling calligraphy, antiques, and Chinese paintings.
3. Live Music by the City Wall
Along the way, we’ll pause at a public square near the wall, where locals gather for free outdoor concerts. On some nights, local bands perform here, filling the air with music and energy. No need to understand the lyrics — just clap, move, and enjoy the atmosphere like everyone else.
4. Xi’an-Style Bar Hopping
To wrap up the night, we’ll dive into a truly Xi’an-style bar-hopping experience. These bars aren’t like the ones you’ll find abroad — they carry the city’s unique local spirit. You’ll taste regional specialties such as Shaanxi-style wine. Along the way, we’ll join in traditional Chinese drinking games and experience the lively, communal atmosphere that defines nightlife in China. It’s more than just bar hopping — it’s an immersion into Xi’an’s culture after dark.
By the end of the tour, you’ll have eaten, walked, listened, and sipped your way through Xi’an’s true nightlife — complete with glowing history, buzzing streets, live music, and hidden bars most travelers never discover.
This tour is perfect for solo travelers, couples, or friends who want to experience the real Xi’an — not just as tourists, but as part of the crowd. Come hungry, come curious, and let’s enjoy the night together like locals do.

1. Food & Drinks Cost:
BBQ at the night market and drinks at bars are self-funded – pay as you consume! Normally,for the food portion, a total cost of 60rmb for one person is enough. For the bar part, a total of 200rmb for one person is enough for the whole night.

Spice levels vary; ask your guide for mild options.

The tour will last about 4 or 5 hours, and we will experience Xi’an’s real nightlife — from local street food to drinks. It’s a free tour, but if you really enjoyed the evening, tips are always welcome and deeply appreciated :)
