Free tour in English: A Walking Tour from Ximen to Dadaocheng
Hi! I'm a digital nomad and online coach from Taiwan. I travel around the world while working remotely, and I love exploring cities on foot—especially the hidden alleys and local cultures that most tourists miss. I'm passionate about uncovering stories and places only locals know. If you find that I currently don’t have any tours available, I might be traveling in another country. But if I do have tours open, you're very welcome to join me in exploring Taiwan or wherever I am, and experience the city's charm and everyday life from a different perspective!

I will be waiting at Exit 6 of Ximen MRT Station. I wear black-framed glasses and might have a DJI Action camera with me for vlogging. Look for me there!
Description
This walking tour will take you into Taipei’s most authentic and historically rich old neighborhoods. We’ll meet at Exit 6 of Ximen MRT Station and start by visiting the century-old Red House, where you can feel the cultural vibe and creative spirit of early Taiwan. Then, we’ll stroll through the bustling Ximen pedestrian area to explore the development of Taipei’s pop culture and the favorite hangouts of local youth.
Leaving the busy streets behind, we’ll head to Yuquan Park, a green oasis in the city. Here, we’ll take a short break on the grass to chat, share travel stories, and rest our feet.
Next, we’ll dive into Dihua Street, known as the “New Year’s Shopping Street,” where you can admire Japanese colonial-era architecture and experience traditional local commerce. Afterward, we’ll visit the popular Taipei Xia-Hai City God Temple, famous for its powerful matchmaking deity, the “Matchmaker God,” attracting many seeking love.
Finally, we’ll arrive at Dadaocheng Wharf Plaza, where you can enjoy the riverside view and sunset while relaxing and socializing. If you’re interested, you’re welcome to enjoy a drink here to perfectly cap off the day’s walk.
Looking forward to exploring Taipei’s life and stories with you!
