From Forts to Flavors: A Walk Through Cebu’s Living History
Hi! I'm Hazel — a licensed and passionate tour guide with over 10 years of experience guiding both local and international travelers across the vibrant heart of Cebu and beyond. I’m not just here to walk you through places — I’m here to walk you through stories, flavors, and hidden corners that locals love and tourists often miss. I specialize in customized, soulful walking tours that show you both the grit and the grace of Cebu. Whether it's the buzz of the Carbon Market, the untold tales of historic Colon Street, or the quiet spirit of the old Parian houses — I bring you beyond the brochure. Why do I do this? Because I believe in freedom — the freedom to express, to explore, to connect. I’ve spent years traveling solo, living off-grid, even dreaming of life in a campervan. I carry that same spirit into every tour I give: raw, real, and rooted in meaning. This isn’t your cookie-cutter walk — it’s an experience with soul. If you’re the kind of traveler who’s curious, open-hearted, and looking for something more than surface-level, let’s walk. Let’s discover Cebu not just as tourists — but as travelers, seekers, and storytellers.

Description
Ready to time-travel through Cebu City? Join me on a walking tour that stitches together centuries of stories, living faith, colonial history, and street life — all in one unforgettable route.
🔰 Fort San Pedro – We begin at the oldest and smallest triangular fort in the Philippines. Built by the Spanish in the 1700s, this was once a stronghold of cannons, colonial power, and early defense.
(Note: Entrance fee is ₱30 per person, payable at the gate.)
🌳 Plaza Independencia – Under the shade of age-old trees, hear stories of resistance and revolution. We’ll pass the lesser-known statue of Pigafetta, the Italian chronicler whose writings introduced Cebu to the world.
🏚 Compania Maritima Ruins – Once the Queen Port’s maritime hub, now a hauntingly beautiful ruin. These moss-covered walls echo the days when Cebu was the crossroads of Asia, a magnet for silk, spices, perfumes, and dreams from distant lands.
⛪ Magellan’s Cross & Basilica del Santo Niño – At the heart of devotion and legend. We’ll talk about how religion arrived, took root, and transformed Cebu’s identity forever.
🌿 Senior Citizens Park – A refreshing modern pause. We’ll take a breath here and peek into how locals spend their mornings in one of the city’s most underrated spaces.
🧺 Carbon Market – Cebu’s oldest and most vibrant market! Chaos and charm in one place — bursting with local color, native products, food, laughter, and life. See Cebu raw and real.
🍢 The Barracks – We end at this urban food strip where the past meets the present. Optional food tasting here — from puso rice and grilled meat to street desserts and exotic snacks. Please prepare Php. 250.00 -Php. 300.00, if you want to participate.
