Hello! I'm Julia, a passionate explorer and storyteller currently based in Limassol. Over the past three years, I've been captivated by Cyprus's hidden stories, architecture, and local history. I love photography, reading old memoirs, and uncovering secret spots in the city. Let's discover Limassol's unseen beauty together!

Due to ongoing renovation works at Heroes' Square, the exact meeting point will be shared with you one day before the tour. Don’t worry — it will be nearby and easy to reach. You’ll recognise me by my big red bag with hearts! ❤️🎒 I’ll be waiting for you with a smile and a little time machine in my stories.

Description

What if the streets you walk every day were hiding a story?
Not a loud one. A quiet, almost invisible story – layered beneath the modern noise, waiting for someone to notice.

For almost a year now, I’ve been walking the old town of Limassol with guests and showing them a city that’s no longer there – but somehow still breathes in its walls, balconies and back alleys. This is not your typical tour. It’s more like a time-travel walk with a friend, someone who loves the city and wants you to feel its soul.

We’ll meet at Heroes' Square, and slowly make our way through the heart of the old town, unlocking stories as we go. Together, we’ll imagine:

  • 📜 What was here 100 years ago?
  • 🎥 Which cinema became the third ever to open on the island?
  • 🧨 How did the local authorities collect money to build the main monument, and what tricks did they use?
  • 📮 What did people gossip about, and what were their “social networks” before Facebook?
  • 💣 Why is there a World War II bomb resting quietly in the middle of the city?

You’ll also get to see:

  • 🏠 A reminder of the old Turkish quarter
  • 🗺️ A rare historical map showing Limassol as a tiny town
  • 🖼️ Archival photos that make everything suddenly real

We’ll end our walk near Poe Bar, the perfect spot to grab a drink and let the past settle in.
