I enjoy introducing interested travelers to our Kaiserstuhl region. I am 67 years old and have lived in the Kaiserstuhl region practically my entire life. I speak German, Baden dialect, English quite well, and French, as well as some Spanish. I also enjoy traveling abroad, preferably to the south. I prefer Mediterranean or Baden cuisine, accompanied by a suitable wine.

Pickup

The meeting point is in the parking lot of the Oberrotweil cemetery at the foot of the vineyards. I'm wearing a cap with the Oberrotweil winegrowers' logo and carrying a black backpack with the Freiburg Marathon logo.

Description

On our Nature and Wine tour, we walk along a pleasant road through terraced vineyards to a viewpoint. Along the way, there's plenty of information about viticulture in the Kaiserstuhl region, the cultivation of the vines, and the work of the winemakers.

There's also plenty of information about nature, flora, and fauna. After about 2 kilometers and 140 meters of elevation gain, we reach the climax of the tour.

We enjoy a magnificent 270-degree view stretching all the way to France and the Vosges Mountains. We discover other scenic spots that are ideal for further excursions in the Kaiserstuhl region.

Upon request, I also offer a small wine tasting of three wines at the lookout point. This costs 5 euros per person.
Quickly return to the starting point by a different route.
