Hello, I am Uriah. I like hiking and nature. I will take you to Kaohsiung for a trip.

1. We will meet at Kaohsiung light rail station, Neiwei Arts Center Station (C21A on the green line) 2. I will take a GuruWalk flag.

Description

Shoushan, also known as Monkey Mountain, is an uplifted limestone terrain rising from the ocean, reaching 356 meters above sea level and facing the Taiwan Strait to the west. From the mountain, you can enjoy stunning views of Kaohsiung City and the coastline.

The mountain is a reserve for Formosan rock macaques, which are known for their playful interactions with people. Be sure not to show food in your hands, or you might get an unexpected reaction!

This is a relaxing trip with plenty of spots to rest. Several pavilions for resting are available along the way, and you’ll find tea and water at the top of the mountain. Most routes are along wooden boardwalks, with plenty of shortcuts over rocky terrain for the more adventurous hikers.

On our trip, we will pass a small cave where you can step inside and explore. At noon, light streams through an opening at the top, creating a magical "holy light" effect. If you're lucky, you can stand beneath it and feel its glow. Keep an eye out for muntjacs, or barking deer, which may peek out from behind the trees if they’re feeling playful.

Come and enjoy a peaceful hike, unwind in nature, and take in a breathtaking scenery!
