Practicing artist, student of tech and computer art. Have lived in New York for going on 8 years. I love how I keep finding cool treasures in the city. I’m from Texas. I have been giving tours of art and architecture for 10 years, working at modern art museums as well as New York City guided tours.

Pickup

We will meet OUTSIDE the Membership entrance, just to the left of the main entrance. This is a less busy entrance. I will have a black umbrella with colorful polka dots.

See the MET without getting lost!  See a sample of the best artworks in about 2 hours!

Join us for this introduction into the METs vast art collection where we will do a survey of western art history from Egyptian Sphinx’s, Ancient Greece and Rome, Renaissance in Europe, French Impressionism, and modern art!

With a focus on western art we will be looking at about 30 works while traveling the globe and thousands of years looking at some of the best treasures in this 2 million square foot museum. Our tour, lead by a practicing artist, will take about 2 and a half hours with a break in between. 

You will see the highlights of the MET without getting lost and learn history about the museum and tips for navigation.  You will have time after our tour to go back and explore the museum on your own.

* Modern Western Art (cubism, abstract expressionism, pop art)
* French Impressionism 
* European painting  15-19 century 
* Ancient Egypt 

The tour does not include museum admission.  The MET honors several travel passes and offers discounts to students, seniors and people with disabilities.  The MET is pay what you wish for New Yorkers!
