Hi, I’m Alex, your personal Budapest whisperer! I know every alley, every café, and probably every pigeon in the city. My mission? To show you Budapest in a way that will leave you wondering: Why didn’t I come here sooner?

Pickup

I will be waiting for you in the middle of Heroes' Square, in front of the tomb of the unknown soldier, which stands in front of the largest central column under construction. It is really the very middle of the square 😉 You will recognise me by the tourist guide's licence around my neck.

Description

In this tour, I will tell you everything you need to know about Heroes' Square and City Park! 🏰

The tour will begin at one of the main sightseeing points of Budapest: the unique and grand Heroes' Square. I will explain the history of the square, why it was built, and what each of the statues represents. Since the square’s history is closely intertwined with the green City Park behind it, we will continue our tour by exploring some of the historic and more modern buildings within the park.

The tour ends at the Ethnographic Museum. In the lobby of the museum we will take a look at 19th-century Budapest from a bird’s-eye perspective and end our tour.

The tour covers some of the city’s main attractions: Heroes' Square, Széchenyi Spa, Vajdahunyad Castle, the House of Music Hungary, and many more. Given the historic and contemporary significance of these sights, the tour also provides a deep dive into Hungarian history and modern societal developments.

Get ready for a journey through time and history, as well as a calm and soothing walk through City Park! 🌳
