Out of the Norm: Discover Singapore's Past & Present along our Southern Coast
A true blue Singapore girl born and bred here! Speaks English, Mandarin (Chinese) & Cantonese. I love the 3Hs - History, Heritage and Hiking. Let me bring you on an exploration of Singapore like a local - visit our heartlands, get to know our history from places less frequented by tourists, hear nuggets of information which you would probably not hear from other guides, eat like a local (including savouring durians by the roadside if your are adventurous enough, hee hee) and learn some Singlish, haha!

We will meet at the entrance of Labrador MRT Station on the road level, next to the escalator. (The entrance is also the exit, so no confusion) I will be wearing my striking bright blue UV-protection gear with a hood.
Description
So you have seen our mythical Merlion, visited our ethnic quarters, cruised our lovely Singapore River and admired the majestic Colonial buildings in our Civic District? You want something out of the norm, off-the-beaten track: explore our heartlands, bask in nature, come face to face with remnants of our war past, marvel at how our former docks are being integrated into the beautiful urban landscape that is now part of our Greater Southern Waterfront and more!
We will start with a leisurely walk through the Berlayer Creek mangrove trail, home to a diverse group of flora and fauna. Get up close and personal with macaques and squirrels. See if you are lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the majestic Brahminy Kite!
Next, we proceed to Fort Pasir Panjang, one of 11 coastal artillery forts built by the Colonial British in the 19th century to defend Singapore. Listen to gripping war stories as we weave through the gun emplacements, underground bunkers, machine gun pillbox and casemate.
The last leg will see us strolling along Labrador Park and Bukit Chermin Boardwalk, soaking in the enchanting views of Keppel Harbour and Sentosa. More past and present nuggets await you!
We will end this tour at Seah Im Food Centre so you can have a taste of some local delicacies before zipping off to your next destination from Harbourfront MRT Station, which is a stone’s throw away from the food centre.
Come join me for either the Morning Glory Walk (730am) or the Sunset Sonata Walk (5pm). C'ya!
