Originally a translator by trade, my passion for history and culture made me decide to widen my skills and become a tour guide. I am passionate about Asturias which, despite possible appearances to the contrary, is actually where I am from. I love showing people around my home and helping them discover its history, people and traditions. Showing people from around the world my little piece of the “natural paradise” that is Asturias is truly a passion of mine.

Pickup

You can find me near the Alfonso II statue. I'll be wearing my credentials around my neck and I will have a black backpack, as well as a folder in my hands.

Description

Come with me on an adventure through this medieval city. We’ll be starting the walking tour in the heart of the city, by the Cathedral, near the statue to Alfonso II. We’ll explore its medieval streets discovering their past and present, and meeting some characters on the way. We will discover the importance of Oviedo as a market city. We will leave the old town and its medieval streets behind bit by bit, while talking about some of the most important festivities and events that take place here. Finally, we will finish in the heart of the modern city, where the shopping streets in Oviedo are situated. Our last stop will be a church that has quite a few secrets to reveal.
The duration of the tour is around 2 to 2:30 hours in total. I recommend using appropriate comfortable clothing.

Join me on a tour through the history of this medieval city that has been the capital of the beautiful region of Asturias since nearly its very inception!
