Description
We'll meet at the scheduled time on Rue des Ètats, near the Château des Ducs de Bretagne . We'll explore Jules Verne's birthplace while your guide tells us about the Loire Valley's most important moments.
First, we'll admire the castle, an impressive 13th-century fortress . We'll continue the free tour by visiting Tour Lu , a former biscuit factory that has now become a cultural center for the people of Nantes.
From there, we'll continue walking to admire Nantes Cathedral, which bears a striking resemblance to the famous Notre Dame de Paris . Another place the tour will take us is Place Maréchal Foch , where we'll see the enormous Louis XVI Column, also known as the Liberty Column.
We'll walk along the main artery of the French city, Cours des 50 Otages, which will take us directly to the Tour de Bretagne skyscraper . Nearby is the Basilica of Saint Nicholas and the Place Royale , presided over by the statue of Anne of Brittany. We'll pass through the Passage Pommeraye, a large shopping arcade whose decor will take you back in time.
We'll continue admiring the beauty of downtown Nantes as we stop at Place Graslin and Cours Cambronne, two perfect places to reaffirm the charm of this city.
After a tour lasting approximately two hours and 15 minutes, we'll conclude the free tour by admiring other iconic landmarks in Nantes.
