Hello everyone! I'm Yeray, a history and travel enthusiast. Two years ago I arrived on the Emerald Isle and since then I've been dedicated to discovering its hidden corners and legends. I love sharing stories, curiosities and anecdotes that bring Galway to life. See you on the tour!

The meeting point is at The Skeffington Arms Hotel (The Skeff), located in Eyre Square, the centre of Galway. It is just opposite the park, next to the main bus stops and a few minutes walk from the train station. See you there!

Description

Galway is a city of contrasts, a two-sided coin where the joy of its music-filled streets coexists with stories of pirates, ghosts and broken loves.

On this free tour, we'll start in Eyre Square, the heart of the city, and travel through time with old photos showing its transformation. We'll discover St Nicholas' Church, witness to centuries of history, and talk about the Celts and their legacy. We'll stop at the Spanish Arch, remembering Galway's strong connection with Spain, from trade to the shipwrecked sailors of the Spanish Armada. We'll explore Claddagh Village, home of the famous ring of the same name, and the Cathedral, imposing and full of symbolism.
Along the way, we will learn about the legends of the city, from spirits roaming the old streets to stories of tragic love and betrayal. We will also talk about the Aran Islands, their unique culture and surprising curiosities.

Join us and discover Galway like never before!
