Vladan

Hi! Welcome to the capital of Sweden and Scandinavia. My name is Vladan, and I am passionate about storytelling and sharing the history and public spaces of Stockholm. As your guide, I’ll take you through the city’s beautiful streets, highlighting famous landmarks like the Royal Palace, Gamla Stan (Old Town), and Norrmalm Square (Norrmalmstorg). Whether it’s your first time in Stockholm or you’ve been before, my goal is to make sure you leave with memorable experiences and a deeper connection to this stunning city.

Description

We start at Sergels Torg / Sergel Square, known locally as "Plattan," which is a vibrant hub in central Stockholm named after Swedish sculptor Johan Tobias Sergel. It is a favorite meeting place for locals and an epicenter for city events and protests.

Norrmalmstorg / Norrmalm Square: This area became internationally famous due to the 1973 bank robbery that coined the term "Stockholm Syndrome." Today, it is a picturesque, upscale area surrounded by boutiques and cafes, and tourists can appreciate its intriguing history.

Berzelii Park: Named after the renowned Swedish chemist Jöns Jacob Berzelius. Its tree-lined paths, beautiful fountains, and statues offer visitors a peaceful retreat amidst Stockholm's bustling streets. They are located near the exclusive Strandvägen boulevard and the famous Dramaten theater.

Royal Tree Garden / Kungsträdgården: One of Stockholm's oldest and most beloved parks and home to beautiful cherry blossoms. It is a popular place for gatherings, festivals, and social events.

Royal Palace / Kungliga Slottet: One of the largest in Europe, it is the official residence of the Swedish monarch. With over 600 rooms, it's a grand symbol of Sweden's monarchy. The daily changing of the guard ceremony is a must-see!

We finish at Coin Square / Mynttorget + The Parliament / Riksdagen, a historically important location as a center of political events and protests regarding the country's political evolution, governance, and civic culture.
