Hey folks! I'm a Hungarian art historian who's been soaking up the Flanders vibe since I'm living in Ghent for three years. I love being abroad while feeling at home: You'll often find me snapping photos of art and nature, and I never miss a chance to chat with the locals in their native tongue, making puns in every language I know. Being a real bookworm, I've „worked my way through” heavy medieval codices in many Flemish libraries that look like they've sprung out of Harry Potter’s world! Does your heart beat faster too when you see art? Do you love getting to know a place like an insider? Do you appreciate fun and pun? Then you're knocking on the right door: have a look at my tours! :)

Pickup

Meet me and my mascot SimBaaf in front of the Saint-Michael’s Church, where I’ll be wearing a huge yellow flag adorned with a black lion.

Description

Welcome to enchanting Ghent, the city of towers, boats, festivals, bikes and much more!

Join me for a whirlwind 2-hour walking tour, where we’ll ask the stones why was Ghent called the „medieval Manhattan”. Discover Ghent’s fake medieval buildings made for the World Expo. Prepare to meet the notorious symbol-killer Emperor Charles V and discover the ever-proud spirit of the lion-hearted Ghentians. Listen closely as Bell Roeland serenades us beneath the fire-breathing dragon of the Belfort. There won’t be any „silence of the lambs” either because they’ll tell us their stories. After exploring the formidable Gravensteen Castle, you'll be guaranteed a good knight’s sleep 😉. We'll bid farewell to the city of Artevelde on the Vrijdagmarkt - only to leave you with a "goesting" of discovering more on your own. Plus, I'll share insider tips on where to savor the best Flemish and Ghentian cuisine, along with a refreshing pint of local beer.

Don’t forget your paper symbols of money for tipping (sorry, no credit cards accepted) and your umbrella, as the rain in Belgium is iconic as well! If you're intrigued, let's embark on this adventure!
