Description
This free tour is the perfect option to start getting to know the main monuments and history of the famous walled city of Ávila, declared a World Heritage Site .
You will experience a regression to those bygone medieval times, you will discover the most emblematic places , the stories that surround them and the secrets of their stones, because you are in the city of saints and songs!
We will meet at Plaza de Santa Teresa (Mercado Grande, meeting point next to Burger King)
Entering the wall, we will discover the most interesting corners, such as the Plaza de Adolfo Suárez or the street of Life and Death, full of mystery and legends. We will arrive at the cathedral of Ávila , considered the first Gothic cathedral in Spain . We will admire the beauty of the Basilica of San Vicente and continue to the Plaza Mayor, also known as the Plaza del Mercado Chico . Here we will find the Town Hall and, very close, the church of San Juan Bautista, a place linked to our patron saint Santa Teresa .
We will also walk before some of the most representative palaces such as Superunda or Los Dávila, to end our tour on the pleasant Paseo del Rastro, another of the most idyllic spots in the city next to its garden-viewpoint we can enjoy the impressive views, which are the delight of the fortified city and all its visitors.
