Discovering the secrets of Garbage City and St Simon's monastery
I am born and raised in “Garbage City” in Cairo, and I am a professional photographer. I work inside the Monastery of St Simon the Tanner (aka Cave Church), as a photographer and editor (video and photos) for visitors at the Mario High Ropes center. In addition, I organize tours inside the Garbage City next to the monastery, with unique experiences such as visiting a pigeon tower, visit of a recycling center, a plastic factory, and an explanation of the unique story of its inhabitants - which are overwhelmingly Christians from Upper Egypt like myself.
