Hello, I am Ramón and I am passionate about sharing the history of Chiapas. For this reason I have created a team of guides that offers the free tour of San Cristóbal. We all have academic training, in alternative tourism, in addition, a "diploma for the training of general tourist guides", granted by the Federal Tourism Secretary, therefore, each one will carry a credential that allows them to develop the activity. The free tour is a different way to learn about the history of Chiapas and San Cristóbal de las Casas, so go ahead and reserve your place :)

Description

We will begin our free tour of San Cristóbal de las Casas by meeting in the Central Park, under the MUSAC clock. it is important, identify us with the red umbrella free tour

In this central esplanade we will contemplate the neoclassical façade of the Museum of San Cristóbal. Next to the MUSAC, one of the most iconic buildings in the city, we will appreciate the exterior architecture of the Cathedral of San Cristóbal Mártir. As we will see, the temple perfectly combines different styles such as Mudejar or Baroque.

We will continue the tour discovering various curiosities about the history of the state of Chiapas. Its origins go back no less than the 16th century ! In the case of San Cristóbal, the city was founded in 1528 by Diego de Mazariegos.

After discovering other anecdotes about Chiapas and San Cristóbal, we will arrive at the Iglesia del Carmen, its famous arch , dating from the 17th century, is one of the architectural emblems of the municipality.

The next stop will take place in a shop-workshop where we will discover how Chiapas amber is worked.

Finally, we will conclude the guided tour by taking a walk through the most emblematic streets of the old town of San Cristóbal. Before saying goodbye, we will recommend the best places where you can taste a traditional liquor called pox on our own.
We wait for you!
