Description
"Santa Marta" , the oldest city in Colombia, nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, full of history and amazing adventures since the beginning of its foundation!!..... it will captivate you!
Allow me to tell you about the magic and mysticism of the Sierra Nevada, its surrounding attractions: the Lost City and the Tairona National Natural Park. On this free tour, you'll learn much more about its ancient development and attractions.
This doubly holy city, known as “the faithful and hospitable” and “the tourist pearl of America,” possesses “the magic of having it all!”
The historic center of Santa Marta, declared a national monument in 1959 and a Site of National Cultural Interest in 1997, was restored in its first phase by the national and local governments in 2010 and comprises eight sectors.
Our adventure begins at the Tairona Gold Museum, Customs House.
In the Parque de Bolivar area, you'll learn about the fascinating history of its monuments and ancient houses, built in the finest European style. You'll be impressed by its imposing architecture, which has prevailed for centuries.
Attacks carried out by pirates destroyed the first churches. Therefore,
In the cathedral square, you'll notice the contrast in the architectural styles of its buildings. In this area, the robust religious engineering work, completed in the mid-17th century, remains intact. The stories about its construction and maintenance over time will amaze you.
Aaaaah, in the Parque de Los Novios area, gastronomy and partying are on par with the history of the place. This meeting place is highly sought after by our visitors and locals alike for fun today. You'll hear stories of its beginnings that led this place to become a must-visit attraction when you're in Santa Marta. Please, I'll give you tips on gastronomy (you'll find the best seafood in this area) and places to have fun.
If you haven't spent a night in a hotel or attended gala or folk dances and parties in houses built more than 400 years ago, you can do so in Santa Marta's renovated historic center.
Walking along the Malecon sector in the Bay, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the Marina and port areas.
Likewise, around the bay's boardwalk you'll find a variety of shops selling local and national indigenous handicrafts, along with various indigenous products.
How about a photo with the fishermen in the port area, or a romantic sunset shot next to the islet "El Morro," located just 2,500 meters from the bay.
The International Marina, a riot of luxury and fun.
This free tour offers you the history of the city, without delay or subterfuge, told from an impartial perspective. So, I'll take you where others don't and tell you about things others prefer to avoid.
