Around Antigua there are exceptional towns such as Santa María de Jesus and San Juan del Obispo. Both have been declared "picturesque villages"

Santa María de Jesús is an authentic Mayan village, with its market around the square and its natural surroundings, the Agua volcano. The square and its syncretic church where you can observe rites and religious expressions mixed together. Local weddings, baptisms and communions in the Mayan style. Something out of the ordinary.

San Juan del Obispo: A 16th century town founded by Bishop Francisco Marroquín where you can visit his old palace, the plaza and his Church from 1543. The beautiful surroundings and views of the Panchoy Valley and Antigua Guatemala are also available, as well as the beautiful views of the Botanical Garden and the exceptional volcanoes of Agua, Fuego and Acatenango.
To finish off, you will have the unique experience of being able to participate in the process of making artisanal chocolate with a local family dedicated to this craft, as well as tasting fruit liqueurs.

Finishing the central market of Antigua.
