Description
- Wat Phra Singh Temple: We'll start at 8:00 a.m. at the entrance to Wat Phra Singh Temple, learning about the history and architecture of Chiang Mai's most important and well-known temple. This impressive site is located in the heart of the old city, with beautiful gardens and visited by hundreds of people every day. It's a great place to learn about Buddhism, learn about architecture and tradition, and learn about the lives of monks.
- Wat Chedi Luang Temple: After a stroll through the streets of Chiang Mai's old city, we'll discover another of Chiang Mai's gems. Also known as the fortress temple, the Wat Chedi Luang complex is an ancient temple used as a fortress to protect property and the monarchy from Burmese invasions. Inside the complex, we'll see the enormous chedi where the Emerald Buddha was once kept.
- Wat Phantao Temple , a beautiful and peaceful wooden monastery notable for its traditional northern Thai architecture. There, accompanied by our Spanish-speaking guide, we'll learn more about the Buddhist religion, its rituals, and the symbolism present in every corner of the temple. It will be a perfect opportunity to conclude the tour with an enriching cultural experience.
- Tour Explanation and End: around 10:00-11:00am.
- How much is a typical tip on a free tour? Typically, people leave between 300 and 500 baht per person (the equivalent of 7 to 15 euros/dollars per person), although some people even leave up to 1,000 baht per person (the equivalent of 25 euros/dollars per person).
We ask all clients to consider contributing their part to this project, free of charge, by leaving a tip for our guides. Although the tour doesn't have a fixed price and is advertised as free, each guest leaving a donation for our guides allows us to continue providing this service based on tips without a fixed stipulated cost, since we as a company and our guides have costs to cover during this service. These include guide salaries, our booking department office team, annual fee payments, the cost of our physical office, etc. This is a project carried out with much love, by and for you, with the hope that you will also recognize our efforts.
