After an introduction to Marseille , we will travel back in time to the birth of the city, Le Jardin Des Vestiges , the original port where the Phoceans founded Massalia. Next, we will head towards the old Town Hall (Municipality Hotel de Ville), where the Count of Monte Cristo was betrayed by his best friend and sent to the Chateu d'If.
We will go up to the oldest district in France and birthplace of the city, Le Panier , where Napoleon Bonaparte had an apartment and the first emigrants came to settle in this "village" within the city of narrow streets, still with a Provençal character.
Here, we will discover La Vielle Charite , an old hospice and spectacular monument, now a museum and poetry school. We will go down towards the sea to discover the new port and La Cathédrale Major , the largest church in the city overlooking the Mediterranean, and the only National Museum outside Paris, Le Mucem, connected by bridges to the old quarter and the Fort de Saint Jean, which belonged to the Templars of the Order of Jerusalem and Malta.
Back in the heart of Marseille, we will pass through Le Vieux Port , where local people and nomads from all over the world continue to pass through this place that has lived a long history.
The tour will start outside the Burger King Vieux Port, 1 Quai des Belges, on the Rue Canebiere side,
