Iguana Park and Historic Center of Guayaquil
I like to meet people and talk about the wonders of my city and Ecuador, its customs, culture, food, crafts. I have to offer the world a visit to the Seminario park, Malecon 2000, as an optional Nursery Route (the next day). The meeting point to visit is the Parque Seminario or de las Iguanas in Guayaquil.
Pickup
Departure point at 9:00 am: Malecón Simon Bolívar and Loja streets, entrance to the corner of Tuti, I will be wearing a white shirt, a yellow cap, glasses and blue or black jeans. Departure point at 3:00 pm: Chimborazo and 10 de Agosto streets, in front of the Cathedral door. I will be wearing a white t-shirt and blue or black jeans.
Description
- In the Iguanas Park or Seminary , it is a park where iguanas interact with visitors, they will pose for your photos, in front is the really beautiful Cathedral and from there you can visit the Administration Plaza, the famous Malecón 2000, the colonial neighborhood of Las Peñas, EL Faro and Puerto Santa Ana.
- Along the way you will see works by architects and sculptors such as the Crystal Palace , the iron pieces used for its construction were brought directly from Brussels, Belgium and were prefabricated by the firm Verhaeren Ca JagerIngeneriusConstruiters de Bruxelles, the factory where Gustave Eiffel carried out his works.
- There is a physical endurance test at Cerro Santa Ana to climb the 444 steps to the LIGHTHOUSE, it is a challenge that is worth it, the prize is a 360° general view of the city.
Then the visits will be:
- SEMINARIO PARK (also known as the Iguana Park ).
- ADMINISTRATION PLAZA: Municipal Palace, Government Building, La Fragua de Vulcano Monument.
- MALECÓN 2000: Rotunda Monument, Tribute to the South American heroes Simon Bolivar and Jose San Martin.
- "LAS PEÑAS" NEIGHBORHOOD The city's historical heritage dates back to 1800.
- Port and Santa Ana Hill (where the city was founded) and the Guayaquil City LIGHTHOUSE.
- Santo Domingo de Guzmán Church, dating back to 1548, has glass sculptures in honor of workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Panama Street, where cocoa was stored in 1870, is now home to cafes and restaurants. And there is the Cocoa Museum (entry is $5) .
- Museums: Firefighters, Barcelona football teams from Ecuador , Emelec, pasillo music. Coffee Museum.
- And if there is time and you want to visit other additional sites such as: Handicraft Market of all Ecuador. Churches: San Francisco and La Merced.
