Description

Join one of our expert guides in this amazing free bike tour around downtown Bogotá and learn about the history and culture of the city. Bogotá is packed full of history. From its foundation to modern times, the city has sprawled around its vibrant and ever-changing downtown. And just walking can’t ever do it justice. Our free bike tour was designed to show a bigger face of this massive city and its more than 500 years of history. You will discover so much more on a bike that you would do on foot or bus! From its indigenous beginnings to Spanish colonialism, independence and modern times, learn how each place has symbolically transformed over time. Then, join us at Seventh Avenue, the commercial lifeline that connects north and south. It was originally an important salt road in indigenous times, it now gathers Colombians of all walks of life in trade, culture, politics and, protests. We’ll then go to Independence Park: the oldest in the city. Around it, Bogotá’s cosmopolitanism can be better explored through the adjacent Planetarium, Santamaria Bullring, Modern Art Museum and surrounding neighborhoods. Science, art, history, and culture clash and mingle in this often-controversial space. Then, visit the National Park, half forest-reservoir, half-cultural and, science hub. A typical weekend gathering spot for Bogotá’s denizens, where we will discuss broader changes in Colombia as a whole. We will then make our way back through the Parkway, part of La Soledad Neighborhood. Bogotá’s first boulevard and another of its cultural and artistic hubs where.
