Description
Get to know A Coruña with us as we walk through the streets of the old town and enjoy the sea breeze.
To begin, you will have the opportunity to discover who María Pita was , the woman who gives her name to the square where we begin the visit and who is, without a doubt, one of the great symbols of the city.
We'll learn about the origin of A Coruña's name and the various stories and legends that explain it, as well as the invasions and attacks suffered by sea and how the city and its inhabitants were able to confront them time and again.
A Coruña is also a stopover point on the Camino de Santiago , in this case the English Way, which we will discuss and, at least for a few moments, we will be able to put ourselves in the shoes of a pilgrim.
We'll see important monuments in the city, such as the Pazo de Cornide, the Collegiate Church of Santa María do Campo, the City Hall, the Convent of Santa Bárbara, and the curious Casa do Remo.
The old Jewish quarter will show us where the city's Jews lived and what they did. We'll walk to places like the seafront promenade and the Orzán area to reach the final part of the tour, enjoying views of the waves crashing against the cliffs and, of course, the enormous Tower of Hercules overlooking the Coruña coast.
Route: María Pita Square, Azcárraga Square, Constitution Square, San Carlos Garden, La Marina, Royal Street, Canton Grande, Orzán Beach.
