Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel at 0730 hrs.  A safari briefing session with your Safari Guide then head to Lake Naivasha. We make a stop at the East African section of the great rift valley viewpoint. It is a geologic wonder of the world. Enjoy views of a stratovolcano, Mount Longonot, with an 8x12 km caldera is quite a sight to behold. Drive on further past the small Italian catholic church built in 1942 during the second world war, the Italians were prisoners of war and Kenya at that time was still a British colony until 1963. We arrive in time for lunch then later after a brief rest head out for the afternoon’s activities. We begin with the boat ride, about one hour in the only freshwater lake in the Kenyan rift valley that is home to hippos and over 400 bird species. Get the African fish eagle busy looking for the all-important protein source.

Later we go out for a nature walk at the crescent island. Later on, return to the relaxing ambience of Sawela Lodges.

Day 2: Day 2: Hell's Gate National Park

After taking breakfast, we will head out to the Hell’s Gate National Park tucked deep into the floor of the Great Rift Valley, standing between 2187 and 1560 meters above sea level. Here you explore the hells gate national park, walk amongst giraffes’, zebra’s and warthog “pumba”. Visit and explore the hells gate gorge as you examine obsidian rocks and hot springs in the gorge. You will also have the chance to watch different kinds of bird species, take part in Rock climbing and Hiking. You can also do a bike ride as you watch wildlife, you will have a guide with you. Later on, return to the relaxing ambience of Sawela Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Day 3: Lake Naivasha to Masai mara National Reserve

Leave Naivasha early in the morning and head to the Masai Mara with several stops enroute, Reach the Mara in perfect time for lunch and later leave for the evening game drive in search of the big cats of Masai mara, the lions, leopards cheetahs elephants’ rhinos and other species of elephants. The Masai Mara national reserve offer unrivalled opportunities for big cat sightings. Check back to the Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Day 4: Full day at Masai Mara National Reserve

Full Day at the Masai Mara. We have a very flexible itinerary and game drives are tailored to your interests. Early morning game drive with picnic breakfast gets you higher probabilities of catching the sunrise, animals whilst they are still active. The morning serenity is just unexplainable; you just have to experience. Explore more of the spotted savannah with its diverse landscapes as to capture beautiful animals, with your lenses.

Day 5: Day 5: Lions, the social cats

The Mara River where river crossings happen in July, August and September is the main water body snaking its way through this paradise. Hippopotamus and the Nile crocodile call this home. Other rivers include the talek river and smaller tributaries like sekenani river. The sand river is another picturesque area at the Masai mara and it is right at the border with the endless plains, the Serengeti. Day 6: Day 6: Masai Mara to Nairobi

After breakfast we head back to Nairobi City and visit the giraffe center where you and your children can enjoy feeding the endangered Rotschild Giraffe. You will either be transferred to a Nairobi hotel or to the airport.

I'm a solo traveller, is there a single supplement?

This Safari is not available for solo traveler. Minimum 2 people travelling together.

Should I book pre/post tour accommodation?

You will have to pay a deposit of at least 40% of the booking value for the booking to be confirmed. Please note that the deposit amount varies based on the tour type and shall be notified to you before making the booking. Once the booking is accepted by us, we shall send you a booking confirmation email with the voucher, which shall serve as a contract between us from the date we send the confirmation. All details about the balance payment which is due before the departure date will be mentioned in the booking voucher. If this balance is not paid on or before the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the booking.

What is cancellation policy?

In case of cancellations, the following charges will apply on the amount paid · 45% if cancelled between 60 and 45 days prior to arrival · 60% if cancelled between 44 and 30 days prior to arrival · 100% if cancelled 30 days and 24 hrs prior to arrival
