Itinerary

Day 1: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Arusha or the airport and head to Tarangire National Park in the Manyara region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park.

Ranking as the 6th-largest national park in Tanzania and covering an area of 2,600 square kilometers, it is most popular for its large elephant herds and is usually very dry, in fact, drier than the Serengeti. However, its vegetation is much greener with lots of grass, vast areas with mixed acacia woodlands and some of the wonderful ribbons of the aquatic forest. Don't forget about the giant baobab trees that can live up to 600 years, storing between 300 and 900 liters of water.

In the afternoon, you will break for lunch whereafter the game drive continues until the late afternoon.

Dinner and your overnight stay will be at Fig Tree Lodge & Camp.

Day 2: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up and depart to Serengeti via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, you will enjoy scenic views of Tanzania. Exit the vehicle to view the Ngorongoro Crater and experience the Serengeti plains.

Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife. Over 2 million ungulates, 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs and some 500 bird species inhabit an area close to 15,000 square kilometers in size.

Most visitors come here with one aim only - to witness millions of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and eland on a mass trek to quench their thirst and to eat fresh grass. During this great cyclical movement, these ungulates move around the ecosystem in a seasonal pattern, defined by rainfall and grass nutrients.

Lunch will be offered on the vehicle during the safari. By late afternoon, you will arrive at Nyani Campsite to rest, dine and cherish the greatest moments you gathered during the safari.

Day 3: Full day Serengeti National Park

Today, we wake up early at 6 am and start a sunrise game drive when the animals are still very active. At 10 am, we return for breakfast. Thereafter, we pack our belongings and then proceed with a game drive en-route to Ngorongoro.

Lunch will be served at Naabi Hill gate, an administrative checkpoint located a few kilometers from the actual Eastern Serengeti border with Ngorongoro. This area gives an amazing 360-degree view of the surrounding endless plains. It has coffee shops and other shops where you can buy souvenirs, maps, snacks, etc.

Serengeti National Park is a premium park in Africa with many awards for being the best national park. Here, you can spot all of the Big Five animals (lion, rhino, elephant, leopard and buffalo). It is also where the biggest animal movement happens, the "great migration". Millions of wildebeests, zebras and antelopes move across these endless plains, sparking a lot of predatory actions.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

We wake up early for breakfast at 6 am and thereafter descend the Ngorongoro Crater. We will stop at the Ngorongoro viewpoint for 10 to 15 minutes to take pictures of the astonishing views of the crater and learn a short history of how it was formed.

Lunch will be served at the campsite or the "hippo pool" picnic site - a small pool in the southern part of the Ngorongoro Crater that is inhabited by a bloat of hippos. It is one of the few areas where tourists are allowed to alight from their vehicles and have a picnic or meal. Occasionally, you may also see animals come to drink from the pool.

Ngorongoro is named a “World Heritage Site” due to the most astonishing wildlife experiences one can ever have. It is the only crater in the world filled with abundant wildlife that spends their whole life inside the crater. The crater provides you with up-close views of animals and is also one of the places to see Africa's Big Five.

Dinner and your overnight stay are at Fig Tree Lodge & Camp.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

We wake up early and have breakfast from 7 to 8 am before we begin our journey to Lake Manyara.

Lunch will be served at the Endalla picnic site, one of the 3 picnic sites located inside Lake Manyara National Park and on the lake's northwestern shores. It is a small clearing amidst the woodland where visitors can alight from their vehicles to have a bush meal, a picnic or just stretch their legs while taking in the amazing scenery which may at times include flamingos.

Lake Manyara National Park is famously known for its expert tree-climbing lions which you might find asleep at the top of the trees during your game drive. The park is also known for the flocks of thousands of flamingos that feed along the edge of the lake in the Wet season.

Finally, we drive back to your accommodation in Arusha or the airport for your drop-off.
